(Frequently Asked Questions)

1. What is The Pacific International Anti-Aging Center all about?
Becoming the international flagship in anti&endash;aging medicine, The Pacific International Anti-Aging Center will help men and women regain the vitality and vigor of their younger years and maintain their healthier lives longer. Through the synergy of hormone management, optimal nutrition, and physical, mental, and spiritual exercise, The Pacific International Anti-Aging Center will see remarkable improvements in skin tone, increased mental acuity and focus, strengthened immune systems, increased lean muscle mass, improved fat to muscle ratio, and revitalized sex drive and performance. The Pacific International Anti-Aging Center will be located in Wailea, Maui.

2. What is hormone management, in a nutshell?
  How does it work?

Hormone management is replacing the hormones that are no longer being adequately produced by the body. We are genetically programmed to reproduce and then begin to shut down. The goal of hormone management is to return our hormone levels to that of approximately 30 years of age. This is the age when our immune systems are generally the strongest, our metabolism is efficient, and we build muscle rather than fat. Furthermore, at the age of 30, we respond to exercise more effectively than when we are older. Human Growth Hormone (hGH) is thought to be the body's master hormone. Some time after the age of 30, the pituitary begins to lower the amount of hGH. As the master hormone decreases, the other hormones do not get the message to function and the symptoms of aging begin to surface. Like an electric light switch, if it is off there is no light in the house. If human Growth Hormone, as the keystone, is returned to its optimal level, and all the other hormones are brought back to their balanced state, the body is able to regain its vitality. Because hormone replacement therapy returns the body to its younger efficiency, with the addition of optimal nutrition, mental and spiritual balance, and exercise, we are then able to live healthier lives longer.

3. At what age should a person start such a program?
A person does not need to begin hormone replacement therapy until such time as the body begins to lower its hormone production. A series of tests effectively ascertains the individual's current biological age and the current hormone level. Once that has been established, the HealthCare team can then adequately assess if that individual is eligible to begin a PIAC Program. If the individual does not currently need hormone replacement therapy, he or she is so advised and a determination is made as to how we might help enhance that person's life through changes in nutrition and exercise. People in their 20's and 30's are seeing improvements in their lives through the personalized nutritional and exercise plans currently available. Follow&endash;up blood tests alert the individual and the HealthCare team as to when it is appropriate to begin a full Program.

4. How long before you can actually see results?
While this varies with each individual, some people feel results within days. You can expect to begin to feel results within three to six months after beginning hormone management.

5. How long do I have to be on these therapies?
Once your hormone level has been returned to what is considered optimal for you, it is advisable to continue the therapies in order to maintain your renewed vitality.

6. What will happen if I stop the program?
From whatever biological age you have attained on the program, should you stop, the body will begin to age at a normal rate.

7. Will PIAC treatments interfere with my currently prescribed medications? Generally not. In some instances medications may actually be reduced in level or no longer needed altogether. Your PIAC physician will be able to advise you.

8. Will PIAC be taking over as my doctor?
Absolutely not. As a specialist in the field of wellness, we are happy to communicate with your primary physician, and/or any specialists you may be seeing. PIAC encourages you to continue your usual visits with your doctors.

9. How many pills does one have to take on a daily basis?
The number of "pills" you take daily depends upon your medical hormonal, and nutritional needs. PIAC supplement programs are tailored to the individual needs of each patient. Supplements and hormones are conveniently supplied and mailed directly to you on a predetermined schedule. In the event that your needs include Human Growth Hormone that needs to be injected, you will be given complete instructions in how to fill the syringes and use the small and painless hypodermic needle.

10. Is this type of program FDA approved?
Human Growth Hormone has been approved by the FDA for the treatment of hormone deficient adults since the summer of 1996.

11. Isn't it unnatural to inject or ingest hormones?
HGH is synthetically produced through the recombinant DNA process. Because of this production method, it is identical to the human growth hormone naturally produced by the body. When consumed, hGH is spread to its target organs just as it would be if secreted by the pituitary gland.

12. Do I increase my risk of cancer by taking growth hormone?
There is no reason to believe that growth hormone poses any risks if given in natural or homeopathic doses. PIAC professionals will be in constant communication with the medical directors of all the pharmaceutical houses currently producing hGH, and throughout all the research there has been no correlation between hGH and cancer. On the contrary, hGH has proven to be extremely helpful in strengthening the immune system, increasing mental acuity and focus, and preventing the onset of diseases usually associated with the aging process.

13. What are the side effects of the hormones?
When given in proper natural doses, there are no side effects. In early studies, done prior to research determining proper dosage, there were three rare side effects: swollen ankles, joint pains, and, rarest of all, carpal tunnel syndrome. When dosage was reduced, all symptoms disappeared. HGH is now administered in natural dosage.

14. Does insurance pay for this type of service?
At this time, most insurance programs do not reimburse for wellness programs; however, PIAC will be happy to offer its client/guests a super bill which can then be sent to your insurance companies to see how much, if any, is reimbursable. Some insurance companies have paid portions. Much of the program, however, is usually tax deductible. The government has passed legislation for a program called The Medical Savings Account." It is similar to a Keogh Account. Feel free to contact PIAC for further information.

15. If I sign up, how often do I come to the Center?
Since The Pacific International Anti-Aging Center will have ongoing communication with its client/guests, and since scheduled blood draws and other functions can be done near or at the clients' homes, it will not be necessary to come to the PIAC campus again. However, we will recommend returning once a year following your initial visit. The annual visit allows us to track your progress. We also will have residential programs, "NewLife Re-Entry Communities," where you can purchase property and/or arrange for extended stays if you so choose. Many people will find that they would like to stay in Paradise as they commit to their new beginnings.
